Richard "Dick" Templeton

September 10, 1946 — May 25, 2017

Richard L. Templeton, 70, of  Arbela, Missouri passed away on Thursday morning, May 25, 2017, at his home near Granger.

The son of Lee and Anna (Nixon) Templeton, he was born on September 10, 1946 in Keokuk, Iowa.

He graduated from high school in Wyaconda, Missouri.

Richard married Sheryl Smith on August 10, 1980. They are the parents of three children: Kellie, Cindy, and Chuck.

Richard was a member of the Presbyterian Church and actively worked at the Granger United Methodist Church.

He worked factory jobs, did woodworking, truck mechanics, and enjoyed watching the baby calves in the spring while farming.  Richard always wanted to help people.  He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife: Sheryl of the home, two daughters, Kellie (Jimmy) Dixon and children, Ricky, Tabitha, Tara and Susan, Cindy (Marcus) Nerad and children, Andy and Grace; son Chuck (Aime) Templeton;  Baleigh, Kennedy and Logan; 3 great-grandchildren: Hunter, Liam and Sophia along with his acquired grandchildren, Delsin and Tessa; a brother-in-law, Weston Smith and Rhonda Marsden; two nieces, Tori and Ronnie, cousins and many friends.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested Granger United Methodist Church or the Granger Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.
