Pat Fromm, 91 years old, of Memphis, Mo., passed on April 6 surrounded by her loved ones.
Pat was born in Birmingham, Mo., to Arnold and Dorothy (Owens) Runge, and was raised on a farm outside DeWitt, Mo. While attending Brunswick High School, she met Donald Fromm, who became the love of her life for more than 70 years. The couple were married March 7, 1953, and moved to the Kansas City area. There they raised their four children, Kimberly, Kevin, Kelly and Kenny.
With four children born in six years and a husband whose job required traveling every week, Pat’s career was being a full-time mom. She was the glue that kept everything running smoothly. She was always active in her children’s schools and church and rarely missed one of her kid’s events.
Next to her family, gardening brought her the most joy – there was no such thing as too many flowers. And the brighter the color the better.
Once the kids left the nest, Pat worked for the KC Royals Baseball organization. She became the team’s No. 1 fan—win or lose.
After retiring from corporate life, Pat and Don bought farm ground near Memphis and started a new career as farmers. Pat was an active member of the Memphis community for 17 years, including serving as treasurer of the United Methodist Church and officer of P.E.O.
Pat and Don retired a second time and moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 2006. They moved back to Memphis in 2024.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Runge; sister; Carolyn West; and grandson Lucas Shaw.
In addition to her husband, Don, and their four children, Pat leaves behind sons-in-law Keith Foster and Mitch Lucas and daughters-in-law Dani and Teresa Fromm. She is also survived by her grandchildren Meagan Weber (Derek), Kameron Foster (Molly), Ali Gregory (Matt), Spencer Fromm Shaw (Paula), Kristian Foster (Vanessa) and Konnor, Kollin and Will Fromm, plus her great grandchildren Lexi and Drew Weber; Madison and Liana Foster; Fynn Gregory and Augustus Fromm.
Pat loved her family with all her heart. They were her pride and joy.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
