Lon "Lonnie" Erwin

November 25, 1950 — May 9, 2020

Lon Andrew "Lonnie" Erwin, age 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 09, 2020 at his home in Bible Grove.

Lonnie was born on November 25, 1950 in Kirksville, MO to Clarence Carson & Carey Idell Erwin.  On July 1, 1988 in Kirksville, MO, Lonnie was united in marriage to Saralyn Russell & to this union 2 children were born.

Lonnie attended grade school in Novelty, MO & Downing, MO & graduated from Wyaconda High School.  He lived most of his adult life in the Bible Grove Community where he was engaged in farming.  He was very well known throughout the Tri-States area for his beautiful singing voice as well as his guitar & saxophone playing and many years of making people laugh at different music shows with his "Lonzo" comedy routine.  He was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #414.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents Carson & Idell Erwin. His in-laws, grandparents, a brother-in-law Vic Frederick, sister-in-law Candy Russell & several Aunts  & Uncles.

Lon is survived by his wife of 32 years, Saralyn. One daughter, Jessica Halle' & husband Timothy of Dixon, MO.  One Son, Ryan Erwin & wife Shelbie of Brashear, MO.  A brother, Al Erwin & wife Linda of Greentop, MO and 2 sisters, Rebecca Wilson & husband Tom of Letts, IA and Reta Langston & husband Doug of Palmyra, MO.  2 grandsons, Eli Willison & Emerik Halle' of Dixon, MO and 2 granddaughters, Charlie & Mackenzie Erwin of Brashear, MO.  2 Sister-In-Laws Carla (David) Pulliam of Greentop, MO & Leisa (Greg) Walter of Kirksville, MO.  2 Brother-In-Laws, Jim (Karin) Russell of New Franklin, MO & Jim (Nancy) Miller of Waukee, IA and numerous other family & friends survive as well as his faithful 4 legged companions, Hooch, Benny, Duke & Pete.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the family for their discretion in care of Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.
