Linda Diane (Ahland) Marlowe, 68, of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Memphis, Missouri, passed away April 25, 2025 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home where she was under hospice care. She was born December 21, 1956, the daughter of Walter William (Butch) Ahland, Jr. and Fayetta May Powell in Kirksville, Missouri.
Linda attended school in Memphis, Missouri and graduated high school in 1975. She later received her teaching degree from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri. She began her career, teaching in 1980 at the Wyaconda School and later joined the staff at Scotland County R-1 and continued there until her retirement in 2008.
Linda and her former spouse John Walter Marlowe married June 10,1979 in Memphis, Missouri and to this union 3 children were born, Jeremiah Kurtis, Jonathan Daniel and Joshua Brintan Marlowe.
Linda is remembered fondly by many fellow teachers, students and staff of the schools she served. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and was also very active with her quilting friends in the Sew-N-Go Quilt Guild.
She enjoyed having breakfast at Lacey's Family Diner and visiting with family, friends and neighbors there. She cherished spending time with her grandkids, tootling around on her golf cart and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Walt, a son, Jonathan and her niece, Kayla.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Jeremiah Marlowe of Memphis, Missouri and Joshua Marlowe of Anchor Point, Alaska; 3 grandchildren, Clara & Julietta Marlowe of Alaska and Jonathan Marlowe of Memphis, Missouri; her brother, Mike (Vicki) Ahland and sisters, Patty Ahland and Amanda Woods; her nieces, Allicia(James) Ahland Parke, Autumn (Jason) Barber Porter, Pamela (Jeff) Kemp; and a nephew, Michael (Janelle) Robertson.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested the Hospice of Northeast Missouri and they may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
