Leona “Bambi” Edwards passed away Saturday morning, November 30, 2013, at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis. The daughter of Jay Thomas and Alice Miller Edward , she was born November 29, 1968 at Van Buren County, Iowa.
She attended the Van Buren school system during the time she was in school and lived in the Van Buren and around Memphis most of her life. She married Ray Heimer. She moved whenever the need occurred as she raised her family. She had just lately moved to Memphis to be closer to her family and friends, whom she liked being around until her unexpected death occurred.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jay; a sister, Dawn Caviness; two brothers, Lloyd Caviness and Merle Wiley along with a nephew, Jason Forquer.
Survivors include her children, William Edwards, Britney Heimer, Tasha Snelling Thomas Heimer, Sabrina Heimer all of Memphis; grandchildren, Arianna Edwards and David Edwards of Arkansas and Mikaela Snelling of Memphis; her mother Alice Caviness of Memphis; sisters, Tina Edwards of Memphis, Katie Curtis of Milton, Angel Spurgeon Stockport, Jayne Dabney Memphis, Betty Armstrong, Eldon, Iowa; a brother, Jerry Caviness of Lee County, IA a sister-in-law, Maxine Heimer of Memphis, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
