Josephine Plenge Graf, 108, of Memphis, Missouri passed away Sunday night, March 3, 2013 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri

The daughter of Samuel Lynn and Lulu Gregory Hume, Josephine was born June 30, 1904 in Clark County, Missouri.

She graduated from Kahoka High School in 1923 and taught school until her marriage to Edwin H. Plenge of Clark County, Missouri on June 15, 1927. They moved to Memphis and became the parents of Anna Lynn Jean, and Robert.  Edwin preceded her in death December 31, 1951. and Josephine returned to college to earn a teacher's degree.

She taught in rural Scotland County and then in Scotland Co. R-1. In 1966 she moved to Hazelwood, Missouri and taught Junior High for two years. In July of 1966 she and Chris Graf were married. His home was in Western Springs, Illinois, where they had almost twenty years together. Josephine was a member of Chapter JY PEO, and a past worthy Matron of Carter Chapter #107 of Memphis, Missouri.

Josephine is survived by her children,  Anna Lynn and her husband Lynn, Jean Plenge Henner and Robert Plenge and his wife Carol, eight grandchildren; David and Mary Ann Kirkpatrick, Lynnette and Jeff Dyer, and Philip Kirkpatrick all of Memphis, Kim (Henner) and Rick Kindler of Kansas City, Missouri, Lisa (Henner) and Mike Thelen of St. Charles, Missouri, Jill (Henner) and Mike Schlueter of Wellsville. Laurie (Plenge) Dreesen and David of Austin, Texas and Robby Plenge of Austin, Texas, eight great grandchildren: Julie Freburg, Michael Freburg and his wife Lindsey, Ryan Kirkpatrick, Andrea Kirkpatrick, Kyle Thelen, Brittany Thelen, Amanda Schlueter and Chase Schlueter all out of the area, step children: Janet Graf, Ralph and Alan, and Rick Graf and Charlene, seven step grandchildren and numerous step great-grandchildren.
