Bob Garrett

Robert L. (Bob) Garrett, 85, of rural Memphis, Missouri died at his home early Monday morning with his family by his side. He was born February 11, 1941, in rural Scotland County, to Dewey and Evelyn Garrett. He lived and worked his entire life in Scotland, mostly Memphis Missouri. After high school Bob worked as a mechanic for the local tractor dealers, automotive sales businesses and service stations.

Bob owned and operated Garrett's MFA service station for many years. Bob was well known in the region as an excellent and trusted mechanic. He had regular customers that would come from Iowa and Illinois to have work completed on their automobiles or farm equipment. Over the years he kept many local farmers and businesses up and running with his skills. Later, he work for Pepsi Cola, first as a truck mechanic and then in vending machine repair. Bob retired at the age of 70.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Dewey Garrett and his son Leon Garrett.

Bob is survived by his daughter BK Garrett, daughter-in-law, Angie Garrett, grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, Kamrei (Nick), and great-granddaughter, Pyper. Also, long time loving companion, Judy Bradley, sister, Christine Heaton (Dale), loving niece, Beverly Moore and long-time friend Randall Aldridge, dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins along with many  long-time friends. He also leaves behind his beloved pets, Smokey and Peanut.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Hospice of Northeast Missouri or to the Pheasant Airplane Committee in care of Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 East Madison St., Memphis, Missouri, 63555.
